A disorder that usually occurs in children between 5 and 10 years of age and is characterized by frequent episodes of explosive vomiting at night or early in the morning with intervening symptom-free periods. Other symptoms may include ABDOMINAL PAIN; FATIGUE; ANOREXIA; PALLOR and MIGRAINE. Matrilineal mutations in the mitochondrial transfer RNA-leucine gene (MTTL1) have been identified. OMIM: 500007
