A form of hyperhidrosis characterized by excessive perspiration of the eccrine sweat gland in the palm, sole, and axilla. Perspiration in those affected may be aggravated by emotional stimuli and is more frequent in persons of East Asian descent. Nearly half of cases may be familial, with inheritance mapped to chromosome 14. OMIM: 144110
